Chief of General Staff General Fayyad Al-Ruwaili and Commander of US Central Command General Michael Kurilla attended today the joint drill of the Saudi armed forces and their counterparts in the US Central Command, named "Red Sands 2".

Al-Ruwaili was given detailed briefing on the objectives of the drill, the capabilities of the participating forces and the tasks assigned to them in the drill.
Director of the "Red Sands 2" drill, which is one of the military drills scheduled to be held by Saudi and US militaries, Brigadier General Mohammed Al-Maliki said that the three-day drill has achieved all the desired objectives, most important of which is strengthening military relations between the armed forces of the two friendly countries, gaining experience, enhancing skills and increasing the readiness of Saudi armed forces to deal with potential threats.

He added that the drill focused on methods of detecting and responding to unmanned aircraft systems, the use of weapons, jamming/deception systems, and artificial intelligence techniques.
He also said that the Saudi armed forces carried out their tasks with a high level of professionalism and accuracy, due, in no small measure, to the support provided by the wise leadership of the country.
