MELBOURNE, Fla., April 7, 2026 — L3Harris Technologies (NYSE: LHX) has received a $150 million contract from the U.S. Space Force’s Space Systems Command to sustain and modernize critical ground systems, which enable faster decision-making, earlier threat warning and sustained space superiority. The contract is part of the Maintenance of Space Situational Awareness Integrated Capabilities (MOSSAIC) program.

Peru Selects Lockheed Martin F-16 Block 70, Strengthening Sovereignty And U.S. Partnership

Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) welcomes the Government of Peru's announcement to purchase 12 new F-16 Block 70 aircraft to modernize the nation's fighter fleet and strengthen its national defense capabilities.

The F-16 will provide Peru with a proven, highly capable and interoperable multirole fighter aircraft that enhances air sovereignty, supports regional security and enables long-term operational readiness. The Block 70 is the newest and most capable F-16 ever built with the longest service life, lowest lifecycle cost, and strongest global support base of any fighter in production today. It features advanced technology, radar, and weapons systems that give pilots better awareness and greater protection to achieve their mission and return home safe.

Hanwha Aerospace signs MOU with Indra Group for Latin American defense cooperation

Hanwha Aerospace has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Spanish defense company Indra Group to jointly offer armored vehicle solutions for the Chilean Army and cooperate across Latin America.

The signing ceremony took place at the FIDAE 2026 International Air and Space Fair in Santiago, Chile.

Dong Hyeon Kim, Head of Hanwha Aerospace's Land Systems Business Group, Domingo Castro Fernández, Indra's Director of Defense and Security for America, and María Dolores Carrillo Aguilera, Indra's Business Development Director of Land Systems, and The Republic of Korea's Ambassador to Chile, Hak-jae Kim, attended the ceremony.

Under the agreement, the two companies will jointly propose a combined solution for Chile's next-generation armored vehicle program. Hanwha Aerospace will supply its Tigon armored vehicle platforms, while Indra will provide Mission System Equipment (connectivity, situational awareness, and C2, among others) and serve as the regional coordination lead. Starting with Chile, the two companies aim to expand their cooperation across ground defense programs in the wider Latin American region.

The collaboration marks a step beyond conventional equipment supply, with the two companies offering a turnkey package that integrates Hanwha Aerospace’s proven Tigon platforms with Indra’s mission system technologies.

Dong Hyeon Kim, Head of Land Systems Business Group at Hanwha Aerospace, said, "Indra has defense electronics capabilities and a track record in Latin America that complement our vehicle platforms. Through this MOU, the two companies will be able to offer a more complete package to armed forces in the region."

World Defense Show 2026 Concludes with Record International Participation, Advancing Saudi Vision 2030

World Defense Show 2026 closed today following five days of unprecedented international engagement and exceptional results. The biennial exhibition, founded by the General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI), held its third edition under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in Riyadh, attracting record participation from the global defense community.

 At the closing media briefing, Governor of GAMI and Chairman of the World Defense Show Supervisory Committee Eng. Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al-Ohali outlined the show's key achievements, its strategic accomplishments, and its effective contribution to advancing Saudi Vision 2030's objectives for enabling, developing, and localizing the military and defense industries sector.

 Al-Ohali said: "The results of World Defense Show 2026 reflect the Kingdom's continued progress in building a nationally competitive global military industries sector. The agreements and partnerships we witnessed during the show reflect Saudi leadership in military industries and contribute to achieving Saudi Vision 2030 objectives."

 He announced the show's key results and achievements over five days, with record participation represented by 1,486 exhibitors from 89 countries, alongside 513 official delegations from 121 countries, attended by 137,000 visitors. During the show, 60 military and defense deals were announced with a total value of approximately SAR33 billion, reflecting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's growing position as a global center for defense partnerships, investment, and technology transfer. The exhibition spanned 272,500 square meters, a 58% increase over the first edition, across four fully sold-out exhibition halls.

 The Chairman of the World Defense Show Supervisory Committee extended his appreciation to all government entities and local and international companies participating in the third edition of the show, emphasizing that it successfully connected industry leaders and innovators from around the world. He noted that this edition opened new pathways for global markets to engage with Saudi Arabia's defense and security industry, and that World Defense Show has established itself as a premier global platform for dialogue, knowledge exchange, business development, and showcasing cutting-edge innovations and technologies.

 CEO of World Defense Show Andrew Pearcey emphasized the platform's strategic value: "World Defense Show 2026 has demonstrated the Kingdom's ability to convene the international defense community around shared priorities of integration, cooperation, and long-term capability development.  Pearcey noted that participation from the global defense industry reached new heights, with all of the world's top 10 defense companies exhibiting at WDS 2026.  World Defense Show 2026 featured one of the most comprehensive operational display programs of any global defense exhibition. The show delivered 355 live demonstrations alongside more than 700 static military assets on display. The air program included 63 static aircraft and 25 aircraft performing live flight demonstrations, featuring F-15, F-16, F-35, and Typhoon aircraft. Future Talent, National Capability Building Lead Day 4 of World Defense Show

World Defense Show 2026, organized by the General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI), continued its fourth day in Riyadh, focusing on developing national talent and building the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's long-term defense capabilities, in line with localization targets and strengthening the sustainable defense industries ecosystem in the Kingdom, in pursuit of Saudi Vision 2030 targets.

 Day Four was dedicated to the Future Talent Program, held in the main theater (Hall 2), which took center stage as one of the show’s most strategic initiatives for supporting national competencies and empowering young Saudis to engage in specialized career paths within the defense industry sector.

 The program, sponsored by BAE Systems, was delivered in cooperation with a number of government entities. It brought together students, early-career professionals, and industry experts for sessions exploring the future skills required to support the Kingdom’s defense transformation. Discussions focused on aligning education outputs with industry needs, building technical capabilities for next-generation defense roles, and preparing Saudi talent to contribute to advanced domains such as cybersecurity, unmanned systems, artificial intelligence, space, and emerging technologies.

 The program opened with a strong emphasis on the priority of developing human capital and preparing national cadres capable of keeping pace with global technological changes. Senior leaders from the Ministry of Defense, GAMI, and related entities contributed to the dialogue, underscoring the Kingdom’s commitment to creating structured career and development pathways for Saudi youth within the defense and security industries ecosystem.
