The second day of the World Defense Show 2024, held under the esteemed patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, witnessed SAMI, the national defense and security champion and a wholly owned company of the Public Investment Fund (PIF), strengthening partnerships with leading national companies.

SAMI signed new agreements under the patronage of the General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI) in the presence and guidance of GAMI Deputy Governor Mohammed bin Saleh Al-Athel. These include the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed by SAMI with Saudi Telecom Company (STC) to drive a strategic partnership in digital solutions for the defense and security sectors.

The collaboration aims to integrate innovative solutions for digital transformation as well as focus on developing command and control center services by combining SAMI’s experience in the defense industry with STC’s capabilities in communications. The MoU is considered a pioneering initiative in the region as it integrates military industries with telecommunications to harness digital technologies to enhance national security and defense.

SAMI also signed a contract with Zamil Structural Steel Company to build the SAMI Land Industrial Complex (SLIC) in Al Kharj City. This is the first of its kind in the Kingdom for manufacturing armored vehicles, integrating and adapting sub-surface land systems into an advanced integrated combat system, logistical support, and testing and maintenance of related services.

SLIC will be a key center for localizing defense industries and building national capabilities, enhancing SAMI's role in achieving the localization of 50% of defense spending, in line with the Saudi Vision 2030.

When complete, the complex will offer engineering, design, and manufacturing of a range of different land systems (4X4, 6x6, 8x8); testing, integrating, and adapting advanced mission and armament systems; and the provision of comprehensive maintenance, repair, overhaul, and integrated logistics support using cutting-edge manufacturing machines and equipment that leverage Fourth Industrial Revolution (4.0) technologies to meet the technical and operational requirements of integrated combat land systems for all future defense and security sectors.

SAMI also signed an MoU with the National Security Services Company (SAFE), a PIF company, to enhance security within SAMI and the wider defense sector. The agreement aims to enhance security services, boost secure transportation in the defense sector, and activate security technology, supporting the goal of Saudi Vision 20230 to localize 50 per cent of defense spending and contributing to achieving SAMI’s strategic ambitions.

SAMI, through its expansive pavilion at the World Defense Show 2024, covering an area of over 3,000 square meters, showcases its latest products and innovations in five defense sectors: SAMI Aerospace, SAMI Defense Systems, SAMI Advanced Electronics, SAMI Land, and SAMI Sea.

SAMI is dedicated to developing and enhancing national capabilities, staying at the forefront of the future by providing services, products, and innovations to support the readiness of the Saudi Armed Forces. SAMI aims to contribute to the localization of 50% of the Kingdom's total government defense spending, in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030. The company is working to be among the top 25 defense industries companies in the ‎world by 2030.
